
Columbus Police Arrest Suspect in 10th Street Shooting
The Columbus Police Department has apprehended a suspect in connection with a shooting on 10th Street that left one person injured.
Roy Foster has been taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is currently being held at the Muscogee County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on 10th Street, and officers took Foster into custody within the hour. The victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, is being treated at Piedmont Columbus Regional.
The investigation, led by the Violent Crimes Unit, is ongoing. Multiple police cruisers were on the scene, and crime tape was put up to block off the area.
