
18-Wheeler Crash Closes Loop 410 in San Antonio
A fatal crash involving an 18-wheeler has shut down all eastbound lanes on Loop 410 in San Antonio, near Starcrest Drive. The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with authorities finding the semi-truck on its side and engulfed in flames.
According to the San Antonio Fire Department, the driver of the 18-wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene, and it’s believed they may have been trapped after the crash. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reported that the lane closures would last 2-3 hours and advised drivers to take alternate routes.

TxDOT suggested drivers exit early and take Austin Highway, U.S. 281, Harry Wurzbach, Perrin Beitel, or Walzem roads to avoid congestion. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the crash.
The crash has caused significant delays, with traffic slowed to 1-5 mph on Loop 410, according to SigAlert. Vehicles are backed up to Nacogdoches Road, and drivers are advised to plan for alternative routes.
