Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Stretch of Capital Beltway in Cumberland County
A multi-vehicle accident involving a box truck occurred on Route 581 eastbound in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, around 6:05 a.m. on Friday, according to PennDOT.
The crash resulted in the closure of all lanes of Route 581 eastbound between the exit and entry ramps of Route 15, near Exit 5 to Gettysburg and Camp Hill. Additionally, the left lane of Route 581 westbound is closed due to barrier damage.
Traffic is severely backed up in both directions of Route 581, with significant delays expected. Crews are working to upright the truck and clear the debris, with the road expected to reopen around 8 a.m.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported at this time. The Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating the incident.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise caution in the area.
