
Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision on M60 Motorway
A fatal accident occurred on the M60 motorway on Thursday evening, resulting in the death of a man in his 60s. The collision involved a lorry, with a white cab and blue trailer, and four other vehicles. The incident took place between Junction 16 at Pendlebury and Junction 15 at the M61 Swinton Interchange at approximately 19:20 GMT.
According to Greater Manchester Police, the lorry struck two vehicles, crossed into the opposing carriageway, and then collided with two more vehicles. A woman in her 20s sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while several others suffered minor injuries.
The M60 motorway was closed overnight in both directions between Junction 16 and Junction 15, but has since reopened. No arrests have been made, and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward or for anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
The North West Ambulance Service assessed five people at the scene, with two taken to hospital. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also responded to the incident.
