
Isla Vista Shooting Suspect Arrested in Concord
A 20-year-old suspect, Jackson Kyle Jue, was taken into custody in Concord on Wednesday night in connection with a shooting and robbery incident in Isla Vista.
According to authorities, Jue allegedly shot a woman on the Los Carneros Road and El Colegio Road bike path, leaving her with non-life-threatening injuries. He also allegedly robbed a male victim on the 6500 block of Cervantes Road.
Jue, a resident of Isla Vista, has been charged with attempted homicide, robbery, and assault. He is being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility in Contra Costa County.
The University of California Police Department (UCPD) at Berkeley and UCSB, the Concord Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force collaborated on the arrest effort.
A shelter-in-place order was issued by UCPD at 11:22 p.m. on Wednesday, which remained in effect until 3:07 a.m. Police investigated the area around the Santa Ynez Apartments and parts of Isla Vista for five hours before makingĀ theĀ arrest.
