
Two-Vehicle Accident in Darke County Leaves Multiple Injured
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 49 and U.S. Route 127 in Darke County on March 19, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire, Arcanum Rescue, and Miami Valley MICU, responded to the scene.
According to preliminary investigations, a dark green 2005 Ford F-150, driven by 59-year-old Douglas James of Greenville, was traveling southeast on State Route 49. A gray 2016 Kia Rio, driven by 19-year-old Kailynn Johnson of Centerville, Ohio, failed to yield the right of way while entering State Route 49 from U.S. Route 127 and was struck by James’ vehicle.
Kailynn Johnson and her passenger, 19-year-old Kiera Kinnison-Mcnutt of Greenville, were transported to Miami Valley Hospital with minor injuries. Douglas James was also transported to Wayne Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
