
One Person Hospitalized After Crash on A689 in Bishop Auckland
A single-vehicle crash occurred on the A689 in Bishop Auckland, near the Toronto Lodge roundabout, on Saturday, March 22, at approximately 9:57 a.m.
Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, responded to the incident. The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed that one person was transported to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

The crash resulted in the closure of the A689 between the junction of Addison Road and the Toronto Lodge roundabout. Durham Constabulary warned that the road would likely remain closed for several hours.
According to eyewitnesses, the scene showed a small white car that had crashed into a lamppost. Police vehicles blocked off the road, causing heavy traffic on nearby roads.
