Philadelphia Crash Claims Lives of Two Brothers, Injures Two Others
A high-speed crash in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond section resulted in the deaths of two brothers and left two others critically injured.
The accident occurred on Friday evening when a Mazda carrying four brothers from New Jersey veered off an I-95 overpass and landed on Castor Avenue below.
Two rear passengers, ages 18 and 22, were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene and a nearby hospital, respectively.
The driver and front passenger, ages 18 and 23, were transported to nearby hospitals and remain in critical condition.
Witnesses reported that the Mazda was racing a Dodge Challenger at high speeds on I-95 northbound before the driver lost control, which may have contributed to the fatal crash.
A puppy riding in the vehicle was also killed in the accident.
The incident is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
