Woman in Her 20s Killed in Highway 40 Crash Near Portneuf
A tragic accident occurred on Highway 40 near Portneuf on Monday evening, claiming the life of a young woman in her twenties.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the incident happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. when the woman was struck by a car near her parked vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest that she may have exited her car to chase after a dog when the accident occurred.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. The SQ spokesperson confirmed that the incident is not considered criminal in nature.
Police officers spent several hours at the scene late into the evening, gathering evidence and reconstructing the events surrounding the fatal crash.
