According to the French public broadcaster RTBF, a second gunshot has occurred in the area of the Clemenceau metro station in the Anderlecht municipality of Brussels. During the incident, one person sustained a leg wound and spent some time in critical condition.
Anderlecht has seen two incidents in a single day. If there is any connection between the two incidents, police are looking into it. A ballistic specialist, forensic scientists, and the Brussels public prosecutor’s office all responded to the site and are currently investigating. Cases of bullets were recovered from the site.
The criminals are being sought for after they left the site. Investigators are attempting to determine the specifics of what happened.
After being sent to the hospital with a leg injury, the victim’s condition has stabilized. It happened at about four in the morning.
The metro is still running properly even after the Clemenceau station was closed.
Prosecutor Julien Moinil said, ‘In 24 hours, we experienced 3 shootings in Brussels: 2 in Anderlecht and 1 in Sint-Joost.’
