
I-395 South Reopens After Accident Reconstruction
A multi-vehicle incident involving a pedestrian occurred on I-395 South in Griswold, Connecticut, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, prompting a lengthy closure of the highway. The accident happened around 8:39 p.m. near the Norman Road overpass.
According to the Connecticut State Police, a 27-year-old Worcester man was walking in the right lane after his vehicle had crashed in the area.
He was struck by a 2025 Kia Sportage driven by a 50-year-old Jewett City woman. The pedestrian was transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich with non-life-threatening injuries.
The State Police conducted an accident reconstruction, which concluded around 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025. During the investigation, traffic was diverted off Exit 24.
