Sydney Owens Obituary: Tragic Accident Claims Life of Fort Smith Woman
A 19-year-old Fort Smith woman, Sydney Owens, died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on April 1. The accident occurred at 5:58 a.m. at the intersection of Towson Avenue and South O Street.
The Fort Smith Police Department’s crash report reveals that a 2012 Chevrolet was traveling south on Towson Avenue and turned, colliding with Owens, who was riding through the intersection. Despite being taken to a nearby hospital, Owens’ injuries proved fatal.
The investigation into the incident has been completed, with the police department confirming that conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident.
