Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Downtown Riverside
A devastating multi-vehicle crash occurred on Wednesday night in downtown Riverside, resulting in one fatality and six hospitalizations. The incident took place on Market Street between 5th Street and Mission Inn Avenue at approximately 6:15 p.m. on April 16, 2025.
According to Riverside police, the suspect driver crashed into several occupied vehicles before attempting to flee the scene. Emergency crews found one person deceased at the scene, while six others were transported to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The driver was later detained, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The victim’s identity has not been released, and roads in the area were temporarily closed while police cleared the scene.
