Teenager Dies in Multi-Vehicle Accident in George Town
A 17-year-old student lost his life in a collision involving four vehicles on Jalan Masjid Negeri in George Town on Thursday evening.
According to George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad, the victim was riding his motorcycle towards Gelugor from Batu Lanchang when another motorcycle allegedly hit him from the left. The impact caused the victim to fall onto the road, where he was struck by a small lorry and brushed against a car.
The victim was rushed to Penang Hospital, where he succumbed to serious injuries at 6:09 pm. Police have identified the motorcyclist believed to have caused the accident and are seeking to detain the suspect for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
