Brodie Christopher King Death-Obituary – The Cleveland community is mourning the tragic loss of Brodie Christopher King, a 16-year-old student at Bradley Central High School, who passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in a Chattanooga hospital. Known for his bright personality, generosity, and dedication to those around him, Brodie’s passing has left a deep impact on his family, friends, and teammates.
Brodie, a proud resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, was part of the Bradley Central High School Class of 2027 and a dedicated member of the school’s Bears football team. He was known not just for his athletic ability, but for the heart and spirit he brought to the team and everyone who knew him. Brodie’s determination on the field was matched only by his kindness off it.

A Life Full of Promise and Purpose
Brodie’s family remembers him as dependable, hardworking, and full of promise. More than just a student or athlete, Brodie had a way of making everyone around him feel seen, appreciated, and valued. Friends and loved ones describe him as someone who would go out of his way to help others—whether by sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or simply offering support when it was needed most.
“Brodie never let the weight of the world dull his spirit,” said one close family friend. “He had a rare gift for making others feel special.”
Those who knew him best speak of a young man whose spirit was full of life, with a contagious smile and a deep sense of loyalty. Brodie was also known for his passionate love of football—not just as a player, but as a fan. A devoted UT Vols supporter, he could always be found cheering them on during game days, proudly wearing orange and white.
A Cherished Son, Brother, and Teammate
Brodie leaves behind a large, loving family who cherished him deeply. He is survived by his parents, Chris King (Kelli Ray) and Brandie Rominger (Justin Rominger); his step-siblings, Emily Rominger and Cooper Rominger; his grandparents, David and Tana King, Lisa Palmer, and Jeff Price (Denia Price); and his great-grandparents, Kenneth and Patsy King, Marie Lambert, and Ritia Price.
He is also remembered by his aunt and uncles, Shauna King-Strain (Clayton Strain), Brent and Tanya Carter, Courtney Fowler (Cody Visage), and Alexus and Naaman Goodwin; along with cousins Brayden Hoffman, Caleb Hoffman, Gage Carter, Skylar Mieseler, Ryder Visage, Zoey Goodwin, and Charlie Goodwin.
Brodie was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Roscoe Price, W.E. Posey, and Barbara Posey.
A visitation and celebration of Brodie’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 2414 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and continue until 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
The funeral service will follow immediately at 6:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Barry Fowler.
