A Life That Meant Everything
This is one of those things you never expect to write. With broken hearts and tears we haven’t yet finished crying, we share that Jean-Paul our son, our brother, our uncle, and our friend passed away on Sunday, May 9th, 2025, at Hull Royal Infirmary. He was only 18 years old.
Jean-Paul was in a motorcycle accident the day before. He fought hard, and the doctors tried everything. But we lost him.
And now, the world feels different. Quieter. Heavier. Like someone turned down the volume of life itself.
Who He Really Was
Jean-Paul wasn’t just a teenager. He was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. He had this easy laugh that made everyone feel welcome, like you belonged even on your worst day. He didn’t need big words or grand gestures he showed love in simple, powerful ways. Watching over his siblings. Playing silly games with his niece. Checking in when you least expected it but most needed it.
He wasn’t perfect. No one is. But he was real. And good. And deeply, genuinely loved.

The Day Everything Changed
Saturday started like any other. Jean-Paul got on his motorbike, a passion he loved. He wasn’t reckless; he was careful. He knew the road. He wore his gear. But accidents don’t ask permission. They don’t care how safe you are.
Somewhere along that ride, everything changed. We got the call. We rushed to the hospital. And then we waited. We prayed. We hoped. And then nothing.
It’s a kind of silence no family should ever have to sit in.

They’re planning a candlelight vigil in the next few days. A space where anyone who knew Jean-Paul or just felt this loss can come, share a story, and remember him together. We’ll share those details as soon as the information is out.
His funeral will follow soon after. Honestly, we’re still trying to figure it all out. The pain is fresh. The shock is real. But we’re doing our best because he deserves that.
