A serious multi-vehicle collision on the M11 near Harlow has caused severe delays and closures on the motorway in both directions. The incident, which was first reported at 4:46am, occurred between Junction 8 (Stansted) and Junction 7A (Harlow North).
As a result, the M11 was closed in both directions, with queuing traffic and severe delays reported. Emergency services, including Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service, responded to the incident.
National Highways implemented strategic closures and diversion routes to minimize disruption.
Although all lanes have now reopened, it may take some time to clear the backlog of traffic before normal conditions resume.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and avoid the area if possible.
