A four-car pileup on the M62 Eastbound at Chain Bar has brought traffic to a standstill, with commuters facing “long delays” as they head home from work.
The incident, which was first reported around 4pm, has resulted in significant congestion on the motorway. Although the vehicles involved have been moved to the hard shoulder, the crash is still causing lengthy delays for drivers.
According to traffic monitoring system Inrix, all lanes and the slip road are now open, but the incident continues to cause disruptions. Emergency services, including police and ambulance, have been contacted for further information.
