
Anne Arundel County, MD – A dramatic scene unfolded in Mayo, Maryland on Saturday afternoon when a single-engine plane made an emergency landing, injuring the 18-year-old pilot.
According to Maryland State Police, the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. when the pilot lost power and was forced to make an emergency descent. The plane, a single-engine Cessna aircraft, landed safely, but the pilot suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department assisted with road closures as emergency responders, including fire and EMS crews, rushed to the scene. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are also investigating the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the cause of the plane’s power loss or the extent of the pilot’s injuries.
