
Las Vegas, NV – A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and SUV occurred early this morning at the intersection of Sunset and Fort Apache roads in the southwest valley. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported that the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene.
According to authorities, the crash occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. when a Chevrolet SUV, traveling north on Fort Apache Road, approached the intersection with Sunset Road on a green traffic signal. Meanwhile, a Harley Davidson Nightster, driven by the victim, was traveling west on Sunset Road toward Fort Apache on a red light.
Police stated that the motorcyclist failed to obey the red light and entered the intersection at a high speed, colliding with the right side of the SUV. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities reported that the driver showed no signs of impairment.
The intersection has been closed to traffic, and drivers are advised to use alternate routes. This marks the 30th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2025.
