
Oakland, CA – A police officer with the Oakland Housing Authority and a man who was pulled over during a traffic stop were both shot and wounded in an exchange of gunfire early Monday morning.
According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on 85th Avenue, west of International Boulevard. During the traffic stop, the man allegedly opened fire on officers, who returned fire. Both the officer and the suspect were hospitalized in stable condition.
The Oakland Police Department has launched an investigation into the shooting, which remains under investigation. The motive behind the gunfire is still unclear.
