
A fatal single-car accident in northwest NSW has claimed the life of an 18-year-old male passenger and left three others injured.
The incident occurred on Barnes St, Taminda, approximately 5km west of Tamworth, at around 2am on Monday. A Ford sedan carrying four people crashed into a power pole, resulting in the fatal injury.
The 25-year-old male driver sustained serious leg injuries and has been taken to Tamworth Hospital for mandatory testing. Two other passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, received on-site treatment before being transported to Tamworth Hospital in stable condition.
A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The identity of the deceased 18-year-old male passenger has not been released. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
