
Husband and Wife Shot Outside Berkeley Home
A shocking incident unfolded in Berkeley on Monday evening, leaving a community in shock. A husband and wife were shot outside their home on Drake Drive by a male neighbor, with whom they had an ongoing dispute, according to Berkeley Mayor John A. Bacchione.
The incident occurred in the 5 p.m. hour, prompting a major criminal investigation in the Berkeley Shores neighborhood. Police have advised the public to avoid the area around Amherst and Drake drives.
Mayor Bacchione revealed that police had visited the homes of the couple and their neighbor multiple times due to the dispute. However, the nature of the dispute remains unknown. “Whatever the dispute was about, I have no knowledge,” Bacchione said. “It ended in gunfire.”
The couple was airlifted to a regional trauma center, but the status of the shooter is currently unknown. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
