Pembroke Mourns the Loss of Jamie Bramburger, a Pillar of the Community
The Pembroke community is reeling in shock and sorrow following the sudden passing of Jamie Bramburger, a dedicated community leader, educator, and advocate for the Upper Ottawa Valley. His untimely death on March 11, 2025, has left a profound impact on his loved ones, colleagues, and the community.
Jamie’s remarkable life was marked by his tireless dedication to his community. As the Interim Dean of Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus, he was a driving force behind numerous initiatives that promoted education, community development, and social welfare. His passion for helping others and his commitment to excellence inspired countless individuals and earned him widespread respect.
A lifelong resident of Pembroke, Jamie was deeply rooted in his community. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and his love and support for his family were unwavering. Jamie’s community involvement was extensive, and he was instrumental in launching several projects that benefited local organizations and initiatives.
The Pembroke community has come together to mourn Jamie’s passing and celebrate his remarkable life. Flags have been lowered to half-mast at municipal buildings, and a moment of silence will be held during the Pembroke City Council meeting on March 18.
Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais paid tribute to Jamie, saying, “His leadership, passion, and kindness touched so many lives, and his passing leaves a void that will not soon be filled.”
Algonquin College President and CEO Claude Brule also expressed his condolences, describing Jamie’s passing as a “heartbreaking” moment. “Jamie was a dedicated leader, a cherished colleague, and a tireless advocate for education and community. His loss will be deeply felt by many.”
