Overturned Car-Transport Trailer Causes Traffic Chaos on I-290 in Worcester
A dramatic crash on Interstate 290 in Worcester caused significant traffic delays Wednesday morning. A car-transport trailer overturned near the Route 146 interchange in the eastbound lanes around 5 a.m.
According to state police, the vehicle hauling the trailer had fled the scene by the time troopers arrived. The incident remains under investigation.
The crash was just one of several incidents reported on I-290 Wednesday morning. A witness described seeing two car accidents while driving to the gym, as well as a disturbing altercation between two couples in a car.
“I think I’ve seen it all this morning,” the witness wrote in a social media post. “Happy Hump day, it’s hump alright!”
