Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Closes Wolf Road in Colonie
COLONIE, N.Y. – A fatal pedestrian-auto accident occurred on Wolf Road near Beltrone Drive early Friday morning, prompting a road closure that lasted for several hours.
According to the Colonie Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 6:30 a.m. and confirmed that the accident was a hit-and-run.
The road was closed from the Dunkin’ Donuts at 186 Wolf Road to the Speedway Gas Station at 156 Wolf Road, with 511NY posting the road closure alert around 6:40 a.m.
As of 8:30 a.m., police had not released any information on the suspect vehicle or the victim. Officers were working to notify the victim’s family.
The road reopened around 11:00 a.m. after being closed for nearly five hours. The investigation into the fatal hit-and-run accident is ongoing.
