
Authorities have reported a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that happened on Route 9 near the Shops at Chestnut Hill on Tuesday morning.
According to the preliminary report, the pedestrian whose name is yet to be released was struck and killed by a vehicle on the westbound side of the busy highway. It was gathered that troopers got to the scene and rendered aid
Massachusetts State Police stated that the pedestrian sustained major injures from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene. Boston 25′s Kelly Sullivan reported heavy damage to the front of the vehicle.
The left travel lanes was clossed by State police in both directions after the crash for the safety of motorists and investigators.
The cause of the accident is yet to be released by the officials.
The incident remains under investigation.
