A road traffic accident occurred on the Southend-bound carriageway of the A13, just before the Corringham/Horndon/Stanford-le-Hope turnoff, involving a motorcycle and two cars.
Johnny Arthur reported that the motorcycle rider, a gentleman, was left lying on the live carriageway for over 50 minutes before police arrived to manage the traffic. Alarmingly, the ambulance took a staggering 90 minutes to attend to the injured rider, who suffered multiple broken or fractured limbs.
Arthur expressed outrage at the delayed response times. “It was appalling to see the gentleman lying on the road for so long without receiving medical attention,” they said.
However, amidst the chaos, a heroic act of kindness emerged. Arthur’s partner, Joanna, provided crucial care and reassurance to the injured rider until medical help arrived.
The incident has raised serious concerns about emergency response times and the need for improved traffic management on the A13. An investigation into the crash is currently underway.
This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
