
A multi-vehicle accident on the A52 Clifton Boulevard in Nottinghamshire caused significant disruptions for morning commuters. The incident, which involved four vehicles, occurred at 8:15 am between the A60 Nottingham Knight Island and A453 Clifton Lane. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no arrests were made.
The collision led to a partial closure of the A52, resulting in long delays for motorists. National Highways East Midlands reported delays of up to 55 minutes along three miles of congested roads.
Traffic information provider INRIX noted heavy congestion on surrounding roads, including the A52 Gamston, Lings Bar Road, and A606 Melton Road.
Following the incident, National Highways East Midlands issued updates on the lane closure and traffic conditions. Initially, lane 2 was closed for vehicle recovery and clear-up works, with delays of 25 minutes and approximately three miles of congestion.
All lanes were later reopened, with residual delays of 15 minutes above normal travel time.
