
A9 Closed in Both Directions Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Highlands
A two-vehicle collision occurred on the A9 Inverness to Thurso road, near the junction with the B9174, at approximately 11:55 a.m. today.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and officers were forced to turn away drivers as the road was closed in both directions.
According to Police Scotland, the collision involved two vehicles, but the extent of any injuries is currently unknown.
Traffic Scotland warned motorists in the area to find alternative routes, posting a statement on their website: “The A9 at Tain is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic collision. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”
However, a Police Scotland spokesperson has since confirmed that the road has been reopened.
