According to a spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service, a transport truck collided with the median on the westbound side of Highway 417 in Kanata on Tuesday afternoon, sending an adult male driver to the hospital in critical condition.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:40 p.m. on the Queensway between the Huntmar Road and Palladium Drive exits.
The Ottawa detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police posted online that the collision required the closure of the High Occupancy Vehicle lane and one nearby lane to conduct an investigation.
The lane was closed for several hours.
