
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A devastating car crash on Interstate 275 in St. Petersburg, Florida, resulted in the death of a 53-year-old man on Sunday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. near milepost 26 in Pinellas County. The victim, who was traveling southbound on I-275, lost control of his Chevy SUV for unknown reasons.
The vehicle veered off the highway, entering the outside shoulder before colliding with a tree. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic cameras captured the aftermath of the crash, showing multiple emergency vehicles and a significant backup of cars. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, but the cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
