USC Basketball Recruit Alijah Arenas Involved in Car Accident
Alijah Arenas, a highly touted high school basketball player set to join the University of Southern California (USC) men’s basketball team, was involved in a single-vehicle accident early Thursday morning.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a crash in the Reseda area of the San Fernando Valley, where a Tesla Cybertruck collided with a tree. An 18-year-old man, reportedly Arenas, was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
USC coach Eric Musselman expressed concern for Arenas’ well-being, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Alijah and his family.” Arenas’ mother, Laura Govan, also sought prayers for her son on social media, while his father, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, canceled his online talk show.
Arenas, a Chatsworth High School standout, recently achieved a milestone of 3,000 career points and was selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American Games.
