Train Accident Claims Lives of Three Family Members
Three family members were killed on Thursday, April 3, 2025, when they were struck by an Amtrak train in Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania. The accident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. at the Bristol Station.
According to Bristol Borough Police Chief Joseph Moors, officers responded to reports of people on the tracks and quickly spotted three individuals. They were hit by an Amtrak train traveling to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station. The identities of the family members have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Amtrak train had 236 passengers and a crew on board, but no one else was injured. Shauna Hailey, a passenger, described the moment the train stopped suddenly, indicating something was wrong.
Hailey praised the train crew’s response and witnessed detectives investigating the scene. She expressed concern for the families affected, stating, “This is not an easy thing. I feel horrible for the families involved, for the Amtrak employees… I do hope that the engineer gets all the help they may need.”
The accident caused disruptions to train services, with Amtrak and SEPTA’s Trenton Line suspended for several hours before resuming late Thursday night.
The investigation into why the family was on the tracks is ongoing.
