Baytown Man Killed After Cybertruck Catches Fire — Family Sues Tesla
A man in Baytown, Texas, died after crashing his Tesla Cybertruck, which went up in flames. He couldn’t get out, and his family says the truck’s design is to blame.
The electric-powered doors reportedly stopped working after the crash, trapping him inside. His relatives have filed a lawsuit against Tesla, demanding more than $1 million. They claim the vehicle didn’t offer a way to manually open the doors when power was lost — a flaw they believe turned deadly.
The lawsuit also accuses Tesla of failing to explain how to escape the vehicle in an emergency.
This isn’t the first time the Cybertruck has raised eyebrows. Other wrecks have led to questions about the truck’s safety features and how tough it is to fix after damage.
Some owners aren’t waiting around. They’ve started adding homemade escape tools to their trucks, just in case something goes wrong.
