
Authorities have reported a terrible accident on US 54 in Vernon County, Missouri, that has left the Climax Springs community reeling in shock and grief. The two-vehicle collision, which occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday, resulted in four fatalities and six injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2025 Toyota Corolla failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2015 GMC Terrain. The Corolla then veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The victims of the tragedy include three females from the Corolla: an 18-year-old from Springfield, a 19-year-old from Climax Springs, and a 21-year-old from Camdenton. The driver of the Terrain, a 38-year-old male from Osceola, also lost his life.
The driver of the Corolla, a 49-year-old male from Camdenton, was seriously injured in the accident. Other injured parties include a 38-year-old female from Camdenton, a 39-year-old female from Osceola, two juveniles from Osceola with minor injuries, and an 18-year-old female from Osceola with moderate injuries.
The injured were transported to various hospitals, including Nevada Regional Hospital, Freeman West, Cox South, and Mercy in Springfield.

Maples Ford, a local business, expressed their condolences on Facebook, saying, “Our hearts are heavy today… We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that took the lives of several individuals, including three from the Climax Springs community.” The post went on to mention that one of the victims, Ava Wolfe, had visited their business just the day before, filled with joy and excitement.
