Fatal Train Accident Occurs in Cohasset
COHASSET – A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning, April 2, when a person was struck and killed by a commuter rail train traveling from Scituate to Boston.
The incident took place between the Sohier Street crossing and the Rocky Lane bridge, prompting a swift response from police and fire units at approximately 9:35 a.m. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save the victim.
Service on the Greenbush Commuter Line was temporarily suspended for about four hours as officials from various agencies, including the Cohasset Police, MBTA Transit Police, State Police, and the Norfolk District Attorney’s office, investigated the scene and handled the aftermath.
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of family members.
