
Derbing Alvarado Death-Obituary: 15-Year-Old Boy Killed in East Oakland Shooting
A tragic shooting incident occurred in East Oakland late Monday afternoon, claiming the life of a 15-year-old boy. The incident happened just after 4:15 p.m. in the 1400 block of 100th Avenue, near St. Louis Bertrand Church.
According to police, officers arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, the teen succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as a student of Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School. The school has expressed its condolences and is offering counseling, grief workshops, and healing circles to support students coping with the tragedy.
The school stated, “No parent should have to deal with such a devastating tragedy. We are here to support them on their terms and their timeline.”
The friends and family of the victim identified him as Derbing Alvarado.
