Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash in Beaufort County
A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday night in Beaufort County, South Carolina. The collision occurred at 11:50 p.m. on Okatie Highway near Lemon Island, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The driver was traveling west on Okatie Highway when they struck the pedestrian and fled the scene without rendering aid. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and is working to identify the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
