According to the Garland Fire Department, the driver was traveling northbound on Saturday when a turkey suddenly crossed traffic, causing the vehicle to strike it.
The impact sent the turkey crashing through the windshield, leaving a trail of feathers and blood inside the car.
Miraculously, the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital in good spirits.
The Garland Fire Department shared photos of the damaged vehicle, warning drivers to be cautious of wildlife on the roads, especially as warmer weather approaches.
“This is a great reminder to watch out for animals when traveling,” the department wrote on Facebook.
