Multiple Students Injured in School Bus Crash on Arizona Highway
A school bus carrying students from Kingman, Arizona, crashed on Interstate 10 near Tucson, resulting in several serious injuries. The bus, owned by the Kingman Unified School District, was transporting students from Kingman High School and Lee Williams High School, along with three chaperones, when the accident occurred.
The crash forced the closure of both directions of I-10 near milepost 240 in Marana, with no estimated time for reopening. Emergency responders from the Northwest Arizona Fire District were dispatched to the scene, where they treated multiple patients with varying levels of injuries.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but several students and a staff member were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. The school district expressed concern for those affected and thanked the community for their patience and support during this challenging time.
The incident is under investigation, and the reason for the students’ travel to southern Arizona is unclear. The crash highlights the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while traveling.
