
CHICAGO, IL – A horrific multi-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago’s western suburbs has claimed the life of one person and brought traffic to a grinding halt.
The Illinois State Police responded to the scene on I-290 near 25th Avenue in the eastbound lanes at approximately 7:02 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to eyewitnesses, a vehicle crashed on the eastbound side, sending a person flying over the center median. Tragically, the individual was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling on the westbound side.
The crash prompted authorities to shut down both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway between 25th Avenue and Mannheim Road. The closure has resulted in significant traffic congestion, with motorists advised to seek alternative routes.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by state police, and the identity of the victim has not been released.
