
Fatal Crash on I-95 North in St. Johns County Claims Life of Orlando Man
Authorities have reported a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on I-95 North in St. Johns County, Florida, on Monday night, resulting in the death of a 40-year-old Orlando man.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. when the SUV, carrying six adult passengers, lost control and spun out while traveling north in the left lane. The vehicle slammed into a guardrail, flipped onto its roof, and ejected one of the backseat passengers.
Tragically, the ejected passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, landed on the highway and was subsequently struck by a passing pickup truck. He succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 57-year-old Orlando man, and his five other passengers sustained minor injuries. However, only one of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the pickup truck that hit the ejected passenger, along with her two passengers, escaped unharmed. All three were wearing seatbelts.
The crash led to a temporary shutdown of I-95 in both directions, with the highway reopening before 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
