
School Bus Accident in New Jersey Injures Five, Including Juvenile with Serious Injuries
A school bus carrying high school students from Holmdel to Communications High School in Wall Township, New Jersey, was involved in a crash on Thursday morning, leaving five people injured.
According to New Jersey State Police, the bus was traveling east on I-195 when it collided with a GMC van and overturned near Exit 35B at 7:24 a.m.
One juvenile passenger sustained serious injuries, while the bus driver and three other juvenile passengers suffered minor injuries, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, spokesperson for the state police.
The driver of the GMC van was uninjured. The bus driver and four passengers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Monmouth County Vocational School District confirmed that the bus was en route to Communications High School, located on Bedford Road in Wall Township.
Holmdel Mayor Brian Foster said the town is working to confirm the identities of the students on the bus and the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. School counselors are available to provide support to students affected by the incident.
