Nashville, TN – A fatal hit-and-run incident in the Melrose neighborhood has left a 40-year-old man fighting for his life, and Metro police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down the suspect.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 6:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of 8th Avenue South. Josh T. Taylor had parked his car and was walking towards the Smiling Elephant restaurant when he was struck by a northbound, red SUV.
The driver of the SUV fled the scene, leaving Taylor critically injured. In a horrific sequence of events, Taylor was thrown into traffic and hit by another car. Fortunately, the second driver remained at the scene.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is urging anyone with information about the driver of the red SUV to come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a confidential reporting option, and tips can be submitted by calling (615) 742-7463.
