A 19-year-old man who murdered his mother and two siblings in Luton, England, had also planned to carry out a mass shooting at his former primary school, police have confirmed.
Nicholas Prosper pleaded guilty to three counts of murder at Luton Crown Court on Monday. He admitted to killing his mother, Juliana Falcon, 48, and his siblings, Kyle Prosper, 16, and Giselle Prosper, 13, at their home in September.
Police revealed that Prosper had intended to carry out an attack at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Luton, where he had previously been a student. A loaded shotgun with more than 30 cartridges was found in a bush after his arrest.
Detective Chief Inspector Sam Khanna said, “Fortunately, Prosper was apprehended before he could cause any further harm. This was a truly tragic and shocking case in which three innocent members of the same family have been brutally killed by their son and brother.”
Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy added that Prosper had planned to cause maximum harm to the “wider community.” Police are working with the council to provide support and guidance to schools and parents.
The head teacher at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Maureen Murphy, reassured parents that there was no threat to the school and that “robust” safety systems were in place.
Prosper is due to be sentenced on March 5.
