
MEXICO CITY, Feb 8 (Reuters) – The government of Tabasco state reported in a statement that a traffic accident involving a bus in southern Mexico during the early hours of Saturday morning resulted in 41 fatalities.
According to local authorities, the bus, which was transporting 48 individuals, crashed into a truck. This incident led to the fatalities of 38 passengers and two drivers, with the truck driver also died.

According to anonymous sources for Tabasco’s security, only 18 skulls have been confirmed so far, but many more are missing.
In a Facebook post, bus operator Tours Acosta expressed being “profoundly sorry about what happened,” and mentioned that it was collaborating with authorities to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether the bus was adhering to the speed limit.
Investigation is still ongoing.
