Man Killed in Shooting at Southwest Miami-Dade Gas Station
A fatal shooting occurred at a gas station in Southwest Miami-Dade, Florida, on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of a man.
The incident took place at the Wawa gas station located at Southwest 248 Street and 112th Avenue. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead despite medical efforts. A suspect was taken into custody a few blocks away from the scene after witnesses provided a description of the individual and their vehicle.
Crime scene tape was used to secure the gas station parking lot, and witnesses were visibly upset as they spoke to investigators. The Wawa gas station remained closed as of 10 p.m. on Monday as police continued their investigation.
Detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting, but details have not been released.
