Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Columbia Under Investigation
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Blossom and Assembly Streets, resulting in the death of a male victim.
According to authorities, the victim was struck by a male driver operating a pickup truck. Following the collision, the driver and his passengers fled the scene.
A diligent officer from the Traffic Safety Unit apprehended the driver, who was subsequently charged with hit-and-run resulting in death, failure to render aid, and driving without a license.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office is collaborating with the Columbia Police Department to investigate the incident.
