
ORLANDO, Fla. — A multi-vehicle crash in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, Florida, has resulted in severe injuries and drawn a large emergency response. The collision, which involved multiple cars, occurred near Narcoosee Rd and Nonacrest Dr.
According to witnesses, one vehicle struck a tree with such force that it folded in half and bounced off the tree.
Two cars caught fire, and Orlando Fire Rescue reported that one person suffered severe burns. Two others were injured, but their injuries are not life-threatening, according to the Facebook post made by Orange County Public School board member Maria Salamanca.
Salamanca also stated that the three individuals involved in the crash are reportedly seniors at Lake Nona High School.
The Orlando Police Department preliminary investigation suggests that the two vehicles involved in the crash were driving recklessly before the collision. A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, and all lanes of Narcoosee Rd are currently closed.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
